Alibuilding lays the first stone of the 161 homes in the San Juan Collection development

The mayor of Sant Joan participates in the ceremony to mark the start of construction of this residential complex, which will boost urban development along the city's main thoroughfare.

Alicante, 21 January.- The managing director of Alibuilding, José Izquierdo; the CEO of Aligrupo, Daniel Torregrosa; the mayor of Sant Joan d'Alacant, Santiago Román; the councillor for Urban Planning, David Aracil; and the councillor for Housing, Charo Tomás, took part in the symbolic ceremony to lay the first stone of the San Juan Collection development, on one of the city's central plots. This ceremony marks the start of construction of this 161-home residential complex, located on the city's main thoroughfare, Avenida de la Rambla de la Libertad.

During the ceremony, an urn containing the official flags, the development's design plans, several printed newspapers, coins and construction tools was placed on site as a testament to the historic moment marking the start of this development, one of the largest being developed by Alibuilding, a company headquartered in this same city.

The managing director of Alibulding, José Antonio Izquierdo, emphasised that this project ‘has a very special significance, as it is being developed in the town where the company was founded and is part of the commitment to the urban development of the city by making use of undeveloped plots in its most dynamic area’. Izquierdo also pointed out that the future San Juan Collection development was created with the ‘aspiration to contribute to the improvement of the city, to join in its rational and orderly growth and to provide new homes that respond to the existing demand in society’.

Izquierdo acknowledged that ‘we have put a lot of hope and enthusiasm into making this project a success, and we have focused on its configuration, design and quality to respond to the need to increase the residential supply in the metropolitan belt of Alicante and its city.’

For his part, the mayor of the town highlighted that this is Alibuilding's first development in the city where it has its headquarters, ‘a project that consolidates the main artery, from Jaume I to Rambla de la Libertad, which is already beginning to take shape, and where the first developments are achieving what we all want: more life for our city, attracting new residents and ensuring that our current residents do not have to move to other municipalities’.

Román pointed out that ‘a city that works and evolves is reflected in its construction. And San Juan is currently the city that is granting the most licences in the province, and we are the municipality that is building all types of housing, both public and private’. The municipality currently has around 700 homes under construction, promoted by the Generalitat's Plan Vive, and is developing various private rental developments.

San Juan Collection

San Juan Collection will have 161 homes of different sizes and types, distributed in a six-storey building that will cover a 2,865 square metre plot. This building will provide access to the homes via eight different staircases, connecting the homes and common areas.

The development, which is starting construction today, offers communal parking with storage rooms on two underground levels, communal areas on the roof with a swimming pool, and a gym space on the ground floor.

The company in charge of its construction is Alicante-based Novaligepro, which is already building other developments for Alibuilding, such as Polop Hills and Polop Hills Nature, in the town of Marina Baixa. The project was designed by GEA Architects.
