Alibuilding monitors the construction of its new giant in Benidorm thanks to the Internet of Things

Construction can also benefit from the latest technologies. Specifically, the developer Alibuilding, belonging to Aligrupo, is using the so-called Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor and streamline the building process of Benidorm Beach, the new 36-storey giant that is being built on Poniente Beach in the tourist capital of the Costa Blanca. A project that Ecisa, also from Alicante, is in charge of.

Specifically, as explained this Thursday by the general director of the promoter, José Antonio Izquierdo, the progress of the concreting construction of the Benidorm Beach structures is monitored thanks to the implementation of the CoSMoS (Concrete Strength Monitoring System) with the information on concrete strength is offered in real time from any device with internet access, by recording the temperature of the fresh concrete throughout the setting process.

All this information provides numerous advantages with respect to the conventional systems used in the work, since the technical teams have a battery of data in real time in relation to the temperature of the concrete, the quality of the mixture and levels of resistance, which allows you to optimize production and workflows.

«This is possible thanks to the Cosmos Engineering SL solution that is applied in the construction process developed by Ecisa. The placement of sensors inside the concrete, preferably in the reinforcement, connected to a wireless transmitter send, with a determined frequency and through loT technology, the concrete data to the CoSMoS platform where the significant parameters are processed and monitored in real time mix», Izquierdo commented.

Internet of Things (IoT) allows Ecisa, together with the technical team of Alibuilding and Chamizo Arquitectos, to control the resistance of the more than 13,000 cubic meters of concrete that make up the structure of the Residencial Benidorm Beach, which consists of 36 heights, floor ground floor and 2 basements.

Works at a good pace

Izquierdo also pointed out that, despite the pandemic situation, the Benidorm Beach construction plans «they are proceeding at a good pace and within the initial planning. The works of the residential Benidorm Beach, started in January 2020, are being developed according to the established planning».

Benidorm Beach is a skyscraper that will rise to 36 heights that will modify the ‘skyline’ of the city of Benidorm on Poniente Beach. Its 196 apartments are located near the beach in one of the most thriving areas of the city. In addition, the development offers a swimming pool on the 26th floor, which will make it the highest residential pool in Spain.
